Biography
Ehsan Amiri holds a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology with a specialization in Neuromuscular Adaptations from Tarbiat Modares University. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Exercise Physiology at the Faculty of Sport Sciences, Razi University.
He completed his sabbatical training during 2015–2016 at the Sensorimotor Performance Laboratory of the University of Konstanz in Germany, where he focused on neurophysiology and the application of non-invasive brain stimulation in sport sciences. He joined Razi University as an Assistant Professor in 2017 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2025.
His research primarily focuses on two major areas: 1) investigating the role of neurophysiological and psychophysiological factors in sport performance and neuromuscular fatigue, as well as developing novel interventions to enhance athletic performance; and 2) examining the effects of exercise interventions and advanced non-invasive brain stimulation techniques in clinical populations, with a particular emphasis on mental health and well-being.
In 2024, he was awarded the prestigious Experienced Researchers Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He is currently working as a Senior Researcher at the Human Performance Research Centre (HPRC) at the University of Konstanz in Germany. He also collaborates as a research fellow with Kliniken Schmieder, one of Europe’s leading centers for neurology and neurorehabilitation.
Furthermore, within the framework of the Young European Research Universities Network (YERUN), he serves as a Visiting Researcher in a collaborative international project involving the University of Essex in the UK and Maastricht University in the Netherlands. He is also a member of the European Society for Brain Stimulation and the Academy of Brain Stimulation.
